The Weight Limit

By Jackie Overstreet September 18, 2025

Why wisdom in Jesus Christ teaches us what to carry and what to leave behind

We all hit that point: too much weight, too many conversations, too many inputs.

You can handle it all.

No, you can’t.

What you hear and what you see sink deeper than you realize. Without guardrails, you start internalizing pieces of every room you walk into—every word, every tone, every story. Before long, you’re carrying a load that was never yours to begin with.

The Bible personifies wisdom as a woman. Not fragile, not passive—strong, steady, guiding. She teaches us to make decisions through Jesus Christ, not through impulse or pressure.

That’s why it does take all that. It takes surrender. It takes discipline. It takes choosing Jesus daily, because wisdom isn’t automatic. It’s exercised like a muscle.

When I look back, my worst anxiety wasn’t random. It showed up when I spoke out of turn, stepped out of season, or ignored His direction. Wisdom would have spared me the ripple effects.

So here’s the real check: are you carrying weight God never asked you to lift, or are you letting His wisdom teach you what to set down?

Wisdom has a weight limit. If this helped you set something down, subscribe and keep building strength for what actually matters.

If you've said this, you're not broken. You're just missing ONE piece.

Why the same situations keep showing up
How to stop the cycle without "doing more work on yourself"
