The Discipline-Produces-Hope Path

Why Disciplining Your Children Gives Them Hope Instead of Setting Them Up for Destruction
Proverbs 19:18 says discipline your children, for in that there is hope; do not be a willing party to their death.
Discipline isn't cruelty. It's hope. Jesus Christ disciplines those He loves because He sees who they're becoming, not just who they are now.
No discipline feels like love in the moment. It feels restrictive. Uncomfortable. Unfair. But it produces hope. It creates boundaries that protect. It builds character that lasts. Kingdom parenting means loving your children enough to discipline them even when it's hard. Even when they resist. Even when it would be easier to let it slide. Lack of discipline isn't mercy. It's setting them up for destruction. Discipline them. There's hope in that. Real, lasting, life-saving hope.
Are you disciplining with hope or avoiding discipline and setting them up for destruction you'll regret later?
