Why Smooth Words Are Often the Sharpest Weapons Aimed Directly at Your Weakness

Proverbs 7:21 says with persuasive words she led him astray; she seduced him with her smooth talk.

Flattery feels good. That's the trap. It's designed to disarm, not inform. Jesus Christ warns you that smooth words often hide sharp intentions.

Kingdom discernment means installing a flattery filter. Not everyone complimenting you loves you. Some are positioning you. Some are manipulating you. Some are setting traps with sugar-coated bait. Wisdom doesn't reject all compliments. It just tests them. Does this align with truth or appeal to ego? Is this building me up or setting me up? Jesus didn't fall for flattery. Neither should you. Smooth talk is often the enemy's favorite delivery system. Filter it before you swallow it.

What smooth words are you swallowing without filtering because they feel good, forgetting flattery is often the trap?
