Why a Cheerful Heart Is Good Medicine But a Crushed Spirit Dries Up the Bones
Proverbs 17:22 says a cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
Joy isn't optional. It's medicinal. Jesus Christ doesn't just want you happy. He wants you healed. And joy is part of the prescription.
A crushed spirit doesn't just affect your mood. It affects your body. Your bones. Your health. Your energy. Kingdom living means protecting joy like you'd protect medicine. Because it is. Not fake positivity. Real joy rooted in Jesus. Joy that survives hard seasons. Joy that doesn't depend on circumstances. That kind of joy heals what anxiety destroys. It strengthens what crushing discouragement weakens. Guard your joy. It's medicinal. Your bones need it.
Is your spirit crushed and drying up your bones, or is your joyful heart functioning as the medicine Jesus designed it to be?
