The Two-Things-I-Ask Simplicity

Proverbs 30:7-8 says two things I ask of you, Lord; do not refuse me before I die: Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread.

Two requests. Truth and provision. Not wealth. Not poverty. Just enough. Jesus Christ honors simplicity.

The prayer isn't for abundance. It's for sufficiency. Not poverty that makes you steal. Not riches that make you forget God. Just enough. Kingdom living means trusting Jesus for daily bread, not hoarding wealth or wallowing in lack. Just enough keeps you dependent. Just enough keeps you grateful. Just enough keeps you close. That's the prayer. Truth and provision. Two things. That's all you need.
